Numerical modelling comprises the formulation of physical and industrial processes as unambiguous mathematical problems.

The design and analysis of approximations of these problems by discretisations that can be solved in a finite number of steps, and the implementation of the resulting algorithms in a form that is fit for efficient execution on modern computing infrastructure.

Large Scale Electromagnetic Modelling

One of the core activities of the group is development of the numerical time domain Transmission Line Modelling (TLM) method. Conventionally the TLM is based on a cubic mesh but more recently, the group has pioneered the TLM method based on tetrahedral mesh (UTLM).

Both TLM and UTLM have been applied to a range of applications from Electromagnetic Compatibility to THz applications.
