Dr Sarmed Sami is honoured with the Cook Medical Marsha Dryer Award
The American Society of GI Endoscopy (ASGE) and ASGE Foundation honored Dr. Sarmed S. Sami of the Nottingham Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases Biomedical Research Unit with the Cook Medical Marsha Dreyer Award during the tenth annual ASGE Crystal Awards Ceremony on May 4th.The event was held at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL, during Digestive Disease Week (DDW®) Ms. Dreyer was passionately committed to the support of continuing education opportunities for GI professionals around the globe. The award of $2,970 is granted to international trainee members who submit an outstanding abstract for DDW®. The ASGE Crystal Awards symbolize the finest in leadership, research and scientific pursuit. The event recognized the 2014 award and grant recipients who have shared their expertise and strengthened the specialty and the Society. Proceeds from the event benefited the ASGE Foundation in support of GI endoscopy-related research, physician education and training, and public outreach initiatives.
