Professor Dileep Lobo, Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre, has been awarded a Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons for his lecture entitled "Experiments in fluid and electrolyte pathophysiology: Effective change in clinical practice".
The Hunterian Lectures were founded under the Hunterian Trust, by which the Hunterian Collection was delivered to the Company of Surgeons at the end of the 19th Century. They continue to be highly regarded and prestigious awards within the field of surgery and are awarded annually in stiff competition.
Professor Lobo's research has guided the formulation of the British Consensus Guidelines and NICE Guidelines on intravenous fluid therapy for adult surgical patients. Read more about this work.
