The focus of this research work is to model and simulate the gasification processes of biomass using the Aspen Hysys Design Simulator, and exploring the different availble numerical tools to replicate a specific type of gasifier (Downdraft Gasifier). Several physical, chemical, thermodynamic and kinetic data of biomass that constitute a typical gasifying process are determined in experimental analysis and injected into the process simulator.
