This session will be led by Julia Feuer-Cotter, a PhD student from the School of Geography. Julia has kindly provided the below readings (available to all those on the mailing list) for us to focus discussions on:
“Smellscapes” is an introductory text that discusses the use of odour to understand history and place.
McLean’s “Emotion, Location and the Senses” is a presentation manuscript which discusses the making, documentation, and results of such a smellscape.
This text focuses on the smellscape of trauma and memory - the stench of Auschwitz.
All postgraduates and staff welcome. Hope to see lots of you there!
