Aims

The aim of the project is to access views, concerns and experiences on end of life issues expressed by older people from groups who tend not be involved in research such as those living in residential care homes, or those who are isolated or housebound.

The project has involved a series of interviews, workshops and one-to-one sessions with older people and those that care for them both in care homes and community groups. This project is working in partnership with the peer education project to develop resources to enhance communication about end of life care with older adults among practitioners working in residential care homes and home care.

Methods

The project involved a series of interviews, workshops and one-to-one sessions with older people and those that care for them both in care homes and community groups.

Outcomes and Findings

This project complemented the Peer Education Project and has resulted in initiatives to develop resources to enhance communication about end of life care among older adults and those who care for them.
