The Sue Ryder Care Centre for the Study of Supportive, Palliative and End of Life Care will be hosting a Research Group Seminar on Thursday 24 September 2015:

The Hospice Movement - Then and Now: From Cicely Saunders' Brother

Christopher Saunders - former trustee and now life president of Cicely Saunders International

From the opening of St Christopher's by Cicely in 1967, 48 years ago, to the present day the Hospice movement for better Palliative Care has spread round the

world. Now to over 145 countries. We'll look at how Cicely started working on terminal care, why she made that her life's work, what's changed since then and how she achieved so much.  On the way we'll meet some of the many people who made vital contributions.

For more information please see the seminar flyer (PDF) or for directions to the A30 lecture theatre at the Lakeside Arts Centre, see the directions flyer (PDF).

The event is open to all but please endeavour to register your attendance by email to: ann.gibbons@nottingham.ac.uk
