Patient and public engagement means that we share information and knowledge about our research and results with people. Meeting and talking to people, groups and local communities is a really important part of this.
Sharing our research news with patients and the public is important so that:
PPI means that patients and the public support us with planning, improving and carrying out our lung research projects. We could all be thought of as patients and the public, so anybody can get involved.
PPI is really important as it means that we get to listen to real patient views and this helps to shape our research. PPI can also help us to give research participants a better experience when they take part in our studies. We try to support research that is important to people. By including the views and ideas of patients, carers and the public, important areas of lung research can be improved.
