International collaborations

The Skin Integrity Research Group works closely with academics and clinicians across the world in developing and developed countries. We have formal or developing research partnerships with:

The University of Tokyo (Japan)

Professor Hiromi Sanada is an international expert of pressure ulcer research and runs the Tokyo wound healing research laboratory.

The University of Kanasawa (Japan)

Professer Sugama is a nursing researcher working in the field of wound healing with particular emphasis on wound healing and chronic oedema.

McGill University (Canada)

Professor Suzan Kahn is Director of the McGill Thrombosis Fellowship and Thrombosis Program, Montreal, Canada. We have a formal collaboration through academic trials in the area of post-thrombotic chronic oedema.

University of Montpellier (France)

Isabelle Quere is Professor of Vascular Medicine at the University of Montpellier School of Medicine and head of the Vascular Medicine department at the Saint Eloi University Hospital. There she leads the vascular research team and the national research network F-CRIN InnoVTE.

Isabelle has been involved in venous thromboembolic research for more than 20 years and more recently in the field of low flow venous and lymphatic pathology. Her approach focuses on the identification of rare vascular and lymphatic disease phenotypes and related treatment issues, which enable new therapies to be tested.

University of São Paulo (Brazil)

We have carried out a number of studies with Professor Dr Maria Maria Clara Padovese and her colleagues at the University of São Paulo. These focus on qualitative methods in infection prevention research and surgical site infection prevention and surveillance. Funders include the British Council, FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo) and the International Collaboration Fund.
