Influencing international skin integrity research

Members of the Skin Integrity Research Centre have been working all over the world to influence thinking, drive research and shape policy.

Professor Christine Moffatt spent two months at the University of Tokyo in spring 2016 delivering a programme of lectures.

Meanwhile, Professor Judith Tanner was invited to join the World Union of Wound Healing Societies in Miami in January 2016 to develop a consensus document on the role of negative pressure wound therapy in closed surgical incisions.

Judith was also invited to give a paper on surgical site infections at the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses International Conference in California in April 2016, and to speak on the benefits of patient warming at the joint Association for Perioperative Practice and Infection Prevention Society Conference in May 2016. She has also been appointed as an expert advisor to update the NICE guidelines on inadvertent hypothermia.
