Being competent to carry out your work / research
To ensure competence for specific jobs or tasks that involve health and safety risks, individuals need appropriate training. For example, this may be for a specific lab procedure or how to operate work eqiupment safely.
Managers are responsible for identifying specific training needs for those staff and students they manage/supervise.
Any queries about your training requirements must be dicussed with your manager/supervisor.
Recording Training and Competency
Evidencing that staff and students have undertaken the relevant training is crucial, alongwith confirmation of competency where appropriate.
