9. University policies on disability and web site accessibility |

Disability
The University has a Disability
statement outlining our approach to supporting students and
potential students with disabilities. The University's Office
for Disability Issues plays a role in "promoting access
for students who have a disability, dyslexia and / or long term
medical condition". They, and the Study
Support Centre, also provide services "to enable students
to fulfil the inherent requirements of the course as independently
as possible."
Web site accessibility statement
The University Web Accessibility statement is still in draft form.
It is founded in an aim to provide an accessible web site and refers
to the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative
Guidelines as a measure of accessibility. Although the timescales
are not yet confirmed, is seems likely that all pages will need
to conform to the W3C WAI Guidelines at Level A in the near future
and that all newly developed sites will be expected to conform to
Level AA. Since web development is a fast-moving field, this statement
is likely to be reviewed on an annual basis.
