If you are studying in two departments for your degree, you are a joint honours student. Here's some extra things you need to know.

Induction timetables will be available in early September.

You may have noticed that our welcome week schedules are organised by department, rather than by degree programme.

If you are a joint honours student, we advise that you access welcome information and the induction schedule for both sides of your degree, via the relevant web pages.

Prioritise the schedule for your lead department

For joint honours degrees, one department will act as your ‘lead’ or ‘home’ department. This department is responsible for the administrative aspects of your course.

You should prioritise the schedule for your lead department, but you are welcome to attend any relevant sessions for your non-lead area that do not clash with those of your lead area.

We highly recommend that you attend at least the main induction talk of your non-lead department as this will often contain important information that will be helpful to you going forward.

Bookmark both timetables

You may find it helpful to bookmark the two timetable web pages relevant to your degree. We would advise that you check back to them just before you arrive, in case any of the timetabled sessions have changed.

If you are unsure which side of your degree is the lead, or if you have any questions about any of the information given above, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
