We are always interested in recruiting enthusiastic and talented students to study for a Ph.D. in our group. Each year, we have a range of projects involving supercritical fluids and Green Chemistry and most of our students find jobs easily at the end of their project. Please e-mail to martyn.poliakoff@nottingham.ac.uk for informal enquiries. There are also many other opportunities in the research groups of our colleagues within the School of Chemistry.
There are a limited number of scholarships each year for students from outside the EU; applications for these have to be made early in the year, preferably before the end of January.
If you wish to apply for Postgraduate Study in the School of Chemistry, please refer to the postgraduate applications website for general information and How to apply on-line and there is further information for postgraduate study.
A completed application form will be evaluated by the School of Chemistry as to whether the candidate has the academic potential to carry out a Ph.D. course. Only after an academic offer has been made by the school of chemistry, are candidates eligible to apply for studentships within the University of Nottingham. On the application form, you will be asked how you will pay the fees. If you already have funding, you should state what the funding is. If you do not have any funding of your own, you may use the phrase “to be determined” when asked about the funding source.
When filling in the application form, on-line, please specify your area of interest (e.g. Inorganic, Organic or Physical Chemistry, in as much detail as possible) in your personal statement.
