Laura graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006 with a degree in veterinary science and then spent three years working as a veterinary surgeon in mixed practice in North Wales. This was followed by three years working for Boehringer Ingelheim as a veterinary advisor and brand manager within the cattle team. Laura then moved to the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Nottingham in 2013 to study for a 4-year PhD (BBSRC Industrial CASE studentship), investigating risk factors for lameness in dairy cattle, alongside working part-time for RAFT Solutions, a veterinary-led R&D and consultancy company. Following completion of the PhD, Laura continued to work within the Ruminant Population Health group as a Research Fellow, before being appointed as Clinical Assistant Professor in Ruminant Health and Welfare in 2018.
