Mr David Hill 

Responsibilities

Mr David Hill is Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and leads the Digital and Technical Services function at the University of Nottingham. 

The Digital and Technical Services function provides digital services for our global campuses which includes business transformation, solution design, solution architecture, service delivery, cyber security and technology risk management.  

David is a member of the Executive Board and provides the digital leadership to help shape and deliver our teaching and research, working with a mixture of in-house, and external partners to transform and enhance our digital capabilities.     

Profile

David is a Chartered Information Systems professional BSc (Hons), CEng, CITP, MBCS with over 20 years’ experience in both the public and private sector. 

David started his career as a software engineer working for the Natural Environmental Research Council and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. He later moved into healthcare where he worked for a small owner led business specialising in Prosthetics and Orthotics. 

David has extensive experience of enterprise computing and has applied this in both primary and acute care settings. 

More recently David shaped the digital strategy for University College London Hospitals where he led the delivery of business and safety critical systems and service for 6 central London hospitals.
