University-wide exchange programme

The University-wide exchange programme is a competitive programme that offers you the opportunity to apply to study abroad for a semester at one of the University’s highly ranked partner universities.

Some of our partner universities are part of the Universitas 21 consortium, an international network of leading research-intensive universities, of which the University of Nottingham is a founding member.

The study abroad period is part of your existing degree programme and is an amazing opportunity to experience your degree subject from a different perspective, within a new culture, alongside students from all over the world.

Please be aware that study abroad, compulsory year abroad, optional placements/internships and integrated year in industry opportunities may change at any time for a number of reasons, including curriculum developments, changes to arrangements with partner universities or placement/industry hosts, travel restrictions or other circumstances outside of the university's control. Every effort will be made to update this information as quickly as possible should a change occur.

From our students

"The opportunities for studying abroad were the reason why I decided to come to Nottingham in the first place, and my experience studying for a semester in New Zealand definitely justified that decision. My time abroad has allowed me to experience a different city and culture as well as study environmental science from a completely different perspective."
