We are one of the foremost centres for East Asian visual and media cultures research in Europe, with a special interest in East Asian cinema.
Our research covers the visual and media cultures of China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, as well as associated diasporic communities around the world.
We are a primary partner in the Centre for Contemporary East Asian Cultural Studies. The centre was founded in 2012 to promote innovative research into and critical debate on cultural thinking and practices related to China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. The centre collaborates with major cultural institutions, creative industries and cultural practitioners from around the world to further research in this area.
