Biography

James is a PhD student at the Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training and the Nottingham Geospatial Institute. He has previously completed a Masters in Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, and a received Bachelors in Information and Communications Technology from Nottingham Trent University. His research investigates how walking routes can be personalised with rich geographic information through user engagements with places of interest.

Current Research

James' research is multidisciplinary and mainly focused on the subject of Location Based Services, incorporating concepts from Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science and Geographic Information Science. His current research is investigating how user engagement with places of interest can generate rich geographic information that can be used in the personalisation of leisure walking route recommendations.
