Teacher Practitioner / Senior medicines management technician in stroke mediciine,
I started my pharmacy career in 2009 as an apprentice pharmacy technician at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). Since qualifying as a pharmacy technician I have remained at NUH working in various pharmacy departments such as the dispensaries, stores and the aseptic unit. Over this time I learned about the day-to-day running of the pharmacy services and wider roles available to pharmacy technicians.
In 2015 I started a role as a medicines management technician at NUH, working alongside pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team at ward level rotating through multiple specialties. In more recent years I speacialised within the Frailty admission pharmacy team working closely with my pharmacy colleagues and the MDT to deliver safe and efficient technical services to the ward.
I joined University of Nottingham in summer 2023 where I will be involved in the Pharmacy leadership and management and the professional practice modules on Mondays and Tuesdays. I will continue my role as a medicines management technician at NUH on Thursdays and Fridays within Stroke medicine.
