Biography

Subi is a research fellow in Orthopaedic Regenerative Medicine within Dixon's lab at the School of Pharmacy.

Subi obtained his PhD in Biomedical Science from United Arab Emirates University, UAE, where his research was focused on the activation of gastric stem cells and induction of epithelial regeneration using polarized macrophages. He pursued his master's in animal biotechnology from Kangwon National University, Chuncheon, Republic of Korea, where his research centred on the differentiation and transdifferentiation studies on mesenchymal and epithelial stem cells, in vitro. In addition, Subi was working as a medical research specialist in a stem cell laboratory at United Arab Emirates University, where he investigated various factors promoting epithelial stem cell activation and ulcer healing using gastric epithelial stem cells, organoids, and mouse models for gastric ulcers. ​Subi's interests involve stem cells, organoids, tissue regeneration and gene therapy. ​
