Summer research placement
What's involved?
Support an academic member of staff in the Faculty of Arts with a research project.
When does it run?
For four weeks, starting in June.
Who can apply?
Students in the Faculty of Arts. The programme is aimed at second-year students (or very motivated first-year students); final year students cannot apply.
When do I apply?
February, with project matching and interviews in early spring.
How do I apply?
We advertise that applications are open by email and your moodle department community hub. There will be more guidance on what's involved.and you'll need to complete an application form.

The Summer Research Placement influenced my future studies - it introduced me to a new field of study (in my case fairy tale literature) and helped me to build my academic interest in this field.
This research experience also helped me gain self-confidence in academic research and promoted me to apply to postgraduate studies in children’s literature.
