Current Research

My research interest relates to both human nutrition and health that fall into three broad areas: food sciences, molecular nutrition, metabolic diseases risk factors and biomarkers. Current research projects includes: (i) The effect of different post-harvest processing on the bio-accessibility and enzymatic inhibitory activities in selected functional foods and medicinal plants; (ii) Effects of functional biomolecules on in vitro gene and protein expression to combat non-communicable diseases, in particular diabetes and its vascular complications.

Past Research

Studies on the role of RAGE gene polymorphism and oxidative-glycation process in the development of retinopathy in type 2 diabetic patients
