Dr. Chiew Lin Yap is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She started teaching at universities in 2006. She has been teaching various chemistry modules which include General Chemistry, Chemistry and Society, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Atoms and Bonding, and Laboratory Practicals in Science. She is also actively involved in teaching and learning research and served as an internal examiner for postgraduate research students.

Current Research
Dr Chiew Lin Yap's current main research interest is in converting oil palm biomass into value-added products, especially biofuel and fuel additives. She is also keen on developing new catalysts, as well as sustainable and green production technologies for the synthesis of various organic compounds. In addition, her research areas also encompass the development of green technologies for soil remediation which include various chemical and biological treatments and the impact of treatment on soil quality.
