Frequently asked questions

Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question, require further clarification or would like further information, please contact us.

What is the sign-up process?

  • When you click to become a signatory, we will follow up with a welcome email providing you with the Charter logo and usage instructions. We will also send you a new signatory baseline survey. You will then be asked to complete a short, annual survey.

Is there a fee?

  • We do not charge an annual fee.

Will my organisation’s inclusive practices be compared to those of other signatories?

  • We do not have a league table of signatory performance.

Is there an annual audit?

  • Yes, we undertake an annual ‘light-touch’ survey to find out how signatories are progressing, identify successes and good news stories, or what type of things signatories might like to find out more about, to help them improve their practices, that we may be able to facilitate through our Charter events.

What questions will we be asked in the baseline survey and follow-up audit?

  • The questions asked depend upon answers provided to previous questions. You can download a complete set of the questions in order to collate relevant data where appropriate in advance of completing the baseline survey/annual audit (the survey link will be emailed to you).

How can I get involved?

  • You can share the Charter on social media to help promote it.
  • Ask your employer to get in touch with us to discuss ways in which they might support the Charter.
  • Encourage your MP to support and promote the Charter.

Can my Charter status be revoked?

  • Yes. Signatories are required to complete the annual survey to report on their inclusive practices so they can maintain their signatory status. Signatory status may also be revoked in exceptional circumstances. If signatory status is revoked, the former signatory must immediately cease using or displaying the Chartermark.

Whether you are an individual who would like to support the Charter, or an organisation that would like to become a signatory to the Charter, we encourage you to get involved.
