Online career development courses
We have developed a number of online career development resources for you to engage with throughout your time as a researcher.
Whatever stage of your career you are at – just starting out or ready to transition to your first post-doc – spending some time on your personal development will enable you to make the most of your career opportunities.
You can use these resources at a time most suitable for you as well as having the option to dip in and out depending on your research and/or life commitments.
Personal development for career success
In this Moodle module, there are four topics covered to enhance your personal development and support career decision-making. Move through the resources at your own pace with complete flexibility.
The four topics covered are:
Strengths
Your strengths set you apart from your peers and will influence your future career direction.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
MBTI can be used for a wide variety of purposes including self-understanding and development, career development and exploration, team building, management and leadership training.
Imposter phenomenon
This is a common psychological phenomenon of intense feelings of self-doubt to the extent that people feel like an imposter, either in their personal or professional lives.
Career wellbeing
Thinking about your career, applying for jobs, and being at work can be exciting and rewarding, but sometimes these activities can also present challenges and maybe a source of stress or anxiety.
