Information sources

Reading a textbook

Veterinarians, whatever their discipline, make many rapid clinical decisions about the animals under their care every day. They need reliable, up to date and easily accessible information to help make informed, evidence-based clinical decisions.

Currently, it is unclear how and where vets source information for clinical decision making, and it is not known which information sources are preferred by practitioners and why. There is also no evidence about the barriers and facilitators for vets accessing and using different evidence sources.

Gathering this information is important to the CEVM as we need to deliver good quality clinical evidence to practitioners in the most effective way, to facilitate evidence-based decision making.
