Undergraduate Ambassadors

The Undergraduate Ambassadors module is a final year academic module which offers students practical classroom experience supported by weekly education seminars.

Local schools host the students for a six-lesson teaching placement in the spring term. The focus and content of these lessons is created collaboratively between the student and the host school.

In 2024-25 students studying French, German, Russian, Spanish, Film Studies and International Media and Communications will be taking this module.

If you are interested in being a host primary or secondary school for this programme then please contact us to find out more.

Feedback from teachers at host schools

I’m really enjoying having our UAS student, she is quickly progressing and showing a huge interest in teaching.

Our UAS students are proving to be a real asset and our own students are finding their sessions very valuable - I have had particularly encouraging feedback about our student teaching German, so three cheers for her!

The five ambassadors are absolutely fantastic - they are enthusiastic and organised. Their resources are eye-catching, creative and interesting to the pupils.

I just wanted to let you know what a pleasure it has been to have Ellie with us for her placement; she’s a great linguist and shows real promise as a teacher. She had a very mixed year 9 class and was amazing at building relationships with them, always really well-organised and clearly a hard worker.
