Encounters: Writers and Translators in Conversation are events that give us unique insights into the work that usually goes on behind closed doors: translating.
As part of this series jointly organised by the Institute of Modern Languages Research (London, Godela Weiss-Sussex) and The University of Nottingham's Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies section) we are delighted to welcome Helia Correia, one of the Portuguese-speaking world's most acclaimed living writers, back to Nottingham. Helia will appear alongside Annie McDermott, who is currently translating Helia's short fiction, to discuss her work, which will be introduced through readings (in Portuguese and English) by Nottingham students.
All welcome - please sign up for the event with Eventbrite.
