This conference brings together academics who work in the areas of political violence and historical memory, archaeologists who work on Civil War sites, including the team that carried out the recent search for the mass grave containing the body of Federico García Lorca and three further victims, Spanish journalists who report on matters relating to historical memory, and representatives of three of Spain’s national political parties.
Organised by Steve Roberts, Sal Garfi, Rúben Sérem, Gareth Stockey from the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures with support from the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies, the Faculty of Arts PVC Fund and Santander UK.
Conference programme : A majority of the talks (and the two Round Tables on the Saturday) will be in Spanish, but, there are also several talks in English.
