Nottingham Catalyst Partnership Fund

Engaging the public with research

Nottingham Catalyst Partnership Fund was created in order to provide charitable and community organisations with the opportunity to share the benefits of University of Nottingham’s research and to participate in research activity. The fund provided grants of £500 to support and pump prime in the following areas:

  • Enabling organisations to form partnerships with University of Nottingham Academics, Researchers and Research Departments
  • Enabling organisations to develop University of Nottingham Academic and Research partnerships and links that will benefit the target public/s which they support and work with
  • Providing skills sharing/volunteering/community-based internships/placements opportunities for organisations
  • Enabling public/community engagement with the University of Nottingham through shared research projects and activities

Priority Areas

The Nottingham Catalyst programme was funded by Research Councils UK (RCUK). Our priority was to access communities that did not traditionally or typically engage with Higher Education, including Third Sector organisations (voluntary and community organisations, charities, social enterprises), Health Users and communities, and the “Citizen on the street”.

Grant Applications

The Nottingham Catalyst Partnership Fund is now closed. Applications were reviewed quarterly by a review panel of internal University staff and external community representatives, and during this time we awarded a total of £32,500 to 65 approved projects.
