Student communications
The Internal Communications team manages student communications that are aimed at a large proportion of the student community. If you have a message for a specific school or faculty, please contact the appropriate faculty marketing and communications manager.
Please be aware that we work on a minimum seven day turnaround to upload finished copy to internal communications channels.
Channels
Current students
Current Students is our primary platform for news and events taking place across the university.
Newsletters
Newsletters contain selected highlights such as academic progression updates, student opportunities, community highlights and featured events.
We send the following student newsletters:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate taught
Published weekly on a Thursday. Please send content by the Friday prior.
- Postgraduate research
Published the first Wednesday of each month.
MyNottingham app
The team can publish items of exceptional importance to students on the message tile or send out notifications for high priotiy updates.
Events
Due to a high volume of requests, we are only able to publish events which have promotional materials designed by our in-house design team or one of our agency partners.
Events can be promoted on our events pages, screens and our social media platforms. Design requests should be submitted via the Design Team six weeks prior to the start of the event.
Please inform your faculty marketing manager as they can help and advise on promotional opportunities.

Messages for students also feed into a number of the university’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which are all managed by the Digital Team.
