Universities of Nottingham Talent Grants and Innovation Vouchers
The Food Innovation Centre at the University of Nottingham will be delivering tailored science and technological innovation support to food and drink businesses to help with their growth.
Supported through the Universities of Nottingham Civic Agreement, we will be helping food and drink businesses with new and existing product and process development using the state-of-the art facilities available on our campuses.
Starting from April 2024 until March 2025, businesses operating in the Nottingham City Council area can receive bespoke tailored and funded support from us, from accessing our facilities and knowledge, to working with our renowned academics to use new research and insights to help their businesses grow. This support is available through the Technical Innovation Vouchers, valued at £5k which can be used to access a range of technically focused support from our food innovation technologists.
What businesses will get from the Food Innovation Centre, Uni of Nottingham:
We help businesses to find practical and applied food science or technology solutions to their food and drink technical challenges or ambitions enabling them to innovate and grow. This could be via bringing a very specific technical question or development brief about a product, formulation or process to the team or more generally a business may wish to take the opportunity to discuss how the University could proactively assist them in innovating for their future development.
Our team have a wealth of experience from working in food & drink manufacturing operations, their extensive links to food ingredient suppliers and co-manufacturers, and the knowledge base of the University to deliver business-relevant and tailored solutions.
On contacting the team, an initial consultation will be made to understand the specific need for your business and then a package of work will be costed, which can be redeemable with the innovation voucher.
The business may wish to learn more about an area new to them such as how they can apply sensory evaluation in their business, or how to optimise a process to make it more efficient.
