Ending a task

If you want me to finish an activity, I really do need some notice,like this...

“Tom... Five more minutes and finish.”

and then...

“Tom... two more minutes and finish.”

and finally...

“Tom... you're finished now.”

It seems rude not to say...

“Tom please would you pack away.”

but if you say...

"please" or "would you" or "could you", I think that you are giving me a choice and I don’t have to do it.
