Hiya, I’m taking over.
Excellent, ready to hand over?
Yeah, sure. Did you wanna go to the desk over there?
Yeah, let’s do it.
Okay.
Okay so…bed one we have Harry Smith aged two years, presented to the E.D. at 1700 hours with difficulty breathing.
He was PEWS’ing at 14 with an O2 of 90 percent.
He was placed on a non-rebreathing mask of O2 at 15 litres per minute Resp. rate was 40 with intercostal and subcostal recession, heart rate 160, so tachycardic. Temp 37.2 but no rash and salbutamol administered.
Since transferring he has improved, so his PEWS is now six, O2’s 93 percent but continues on 15 litres per minute of oxygen.
Resp. rate is 40 and heart rate 130, temperature remains 37.2.
He is alert, happy, playing on the bed. No safeguarding concerns.
Due to be reassessed in twenty minutes and needs to continue on the oximeter by the nurse station until then.
Any questions?
Yeah, oh sorry, are the parents still with him?
Yes, the parents are still with him.
Okay, no worries.
Perfect, yeah.
Lovely.
