By using your effective communication skills together with the 'SBAR' approach, you are able to deliver an effective handover. Though you may not be initially expected to conduct handover during your first placement, prior to beginning your practice experience, you may like to practice the delivery of patient handover with your student nursing peers. Doing this is likely to make you feel more confident in performing this skill.
