5. How and where to wear a mask
Choose a comfortable mask that covers your mouth and nose.
Reusable masks should have 3 layers if possible.
Take your mask with you whenever you leave home.
Try not to touch your mask while you are wearing it.
Clean your hands before and after using your mask.
Remember to wear your mask:
- in lecture halls and teaching rooms
- in shops and other enclosed public spaces
- when visiting vulnerable friends and family. That might include a friend who is a carer for an elderly relative.
- on public transport
- in health care settings
- when you can't keep at least a 1 metre distance from others
