1. Introduction

The University and our partners in NUH Trust take the safety of its staff and students very seriously, but maintenance of a safe working environment is the responsibility of each and every one of us.

This resource will help explore the causes of fire, and equip you with the information you need to prevent fires starting in the workplace or your accommodation area. It will tell you what you need to do if you locate a fire or if you hear a fire alarm.

Throughout this resource we follow Jo, a university student, to see how she gets on when dealing with a potential fire in her workplace. We can also listen and share the knowledge and experience of the Universities fire safety advisor, by selecting the buttons available throughout the site.
