The following notice periods apply for resignation and termination of service.

Notice required on resignation for Level 1 posts varies and can be either one week or four weeks. Please check your contract of employment or ask your line manager which applies to you.
Where we give you notice, you will receive one week's written notice if you have been continuously employed between four weeks and up to two years. If you have been continuously employed for two years or more then you will receive one week's notice from us for every complete year of service up to a maximum of 12 weeks' notice after 12 years' service. For example, if you have seven years' service, you will receive seven weeks' notice.
** Level 2 to 3 and Childcare Services levels 1 to 2
Where we give you notice, you will receive one week's notice from us for every complete year of service up to a maximum of 12 weeks' notice after 12 years' service if this is greater than the notice period specified above. For example, if you have seven years' service, you will receive seven weeks' notice.
*** Levels 4 to 7, Clinical Academics and Medical Research Fellows
If you have a contractual requirement to deliver teaching, you must give:
a) three months' notice ending 31 December, 31 March, 30 June, or
b) notice no later than 1 May to leave on 30 September
