December 2025 - Important update
Please note that the 2025/26 academic promotions and senior banding cycle has been paused in light of the decision at Council on 25 November to open up engagement on changes to university structure, courses and research detailed in the FN2 Strategic Case for Change.This pause will enable a two-month consultation process which starts on Monday 15 December 2025, on the proposal that the cycle should not be held at all this academic year.
The banding process gives Level 7 academic staff the opportunity to apply to be banded by taking into account the staff individual's career profile and academic framework.
The banding process is applicable to the Level 7 research and teaching (R&T) job family.
