George Woudhuysen
This monograph will discuss the Roman Empire from the death of Constantine to the aftermath of Julian's disastrous invasion of Persia.
This monograph is based on George Woudhuysen's doctoral thesis. It attempts to combine a revisionist account of high politics with a social history of the late-Roman governing class.
This research is particularly interested in the emperors Constantius II and Constans, both of whom have been rather neglected, but shaped the later Roman world in some pretty fundamental ways.
