Introduction to Flow Cytometry (currently online)
Open to University of Nottingham staff and students, this free course is designed to provide a foundation knowledge in flow cytometry. There are approximately eight instances per year.
Dates of sessions are found and bookings can be made here.
The course is organised into two back-to-back small-group sessions. The first session will focus on theoretical background, common applications and cell sorting, while the second session will cover experimental design and compensation. The course will be delivered in interactive small group sessions, with time to address specific applications appropriate to the group.
Flow Cytometry Data Analysis - Basic Concepts and Use of Software (currently online)
Open to University of Nottingham staff and students, this interactive group session will give an introduction to flow cytometric data analysis and will provide an introductory guide to the use of Kaluza analytical software. There is one class each month.
Dates of sessions are found and bookings can be made here.
Attendees should ideally have performed some flow cytometry already. Each session takes place in a computer room where you will work through and analyse example data which will be provided. You are welcome to bring examples of your own data to share. There will also be a discussion of the appropriate statistical tools and considerations for presenting flow cytometry data.
The online session is free, and please seek your supervisor’s permission to attend.
Introduction to Flow Cytometry - Midlands Innovation Universities
This whole day training course (10am-4pm) is designed specifically for staff and students of the Midlands Innovation Universities. With two classroom sessions and one practical it gives participants a firm grounding in theory and execution of flow cytometry. In the practical session participants learn how to operate cytometers including setting up new protocols and compensation. Places are limited to nine participants per course so there is plenty of opportunity to discuss individual applications. The course costs £150 per person, please contact David Onion for bookings and further details.
In 2020 the Midlands Innovation Flow Group will be utilising its training fund to subsidise training events across the Midlands Innovation.
- Further details will be published here when they are available.
