Natural Sciences Society and Student Life

 

There are a huge number of opportunities for students to get involved in activities during their time at University. The primary source of these opportunities is the Students' Union. Nottingham has one of the largest and most active unions in the country with a wide range of activities to get involved in from sports and societies through to student-run services, student media, volunteering and representation.

In addition Nottingham city is right on our doorstep and is itself a vibrant city of opportunities to amuse and entertain.

NatSci Soc

The Natural Sciences society was set up by the first ever cohort and is now in its 15th year of running and has grown bigger and more active in every year. They form the social hub of the Natural Sciences community organising activities and events to bring together students across the different years of study and alumni. They are involved in welcoming new students when they arrive and organise an afternoon of activities in Welcome Week. They host a range of different events throughout the year including social activities, sports, welfare events, careers focused events and trips.

Sports

NatSci Soc has both a male and a female sports secretary who are responsible for running the IMS teams in football and netball as well as organising other fun, activities during the year to get you moving. Whether you are into more competitive sport or just fancy something to keep active during the year then NatSciSoc Sports tis there for you!

Welfare

There is a dedicated Welfare Officer on the society who organises events through the year to help you to recharge and spend some time relaxing with course mates. These events focus on doing good as well as giving students a break from studying with sustainability and community heavily featured and events doubling up as food drives and charity fundraising.
