Sabina's research promotes the rights and interests of workers in the global garments and footwear manufacturing industry. Her focus is on women in particular, who make up 80% of garment and footwear workers globally but whose specific needs are often overlooked.

Expertise includes labour rights; working conditions; health and safety; women's rights; women's health; gender-based violence; sexual harassment and violence; human rights; labour activism; trade union organisation; union rights; and labour repression.

She is researching the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on women workers in the global garment and footwear supply chain. She has 10+ years of research experience in Cambodia, with specific expertise on politics, development, human rights, industry, and trade policy.
