Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

2. When to use PPE

The decision to use PPE should be made on the basis of an assessment of the risk of transmission of microorganisms to the patient and the risk of contamination to the healthcare worker. A risk assessment should be applied to all patients, in all situations and in all areas of clinical practice so that the appropriate PPE can be selected.

All healthcare workers should wear full PPE when caring for patients with Covid-19 - Coronavirus.
