In this lecture, Dr. Deshpande will explore three areas of research he has worked on over his career: telesurgery, teleoperation, and mixed reality training, bringing them together through the common theme that runs through his research, keeping the human user at the centre of the development of the technologies.

Description
A presentation followed by Q&A from the STAA and volunteers alongside researchers from the University of Nottingham, University of Wales Trinity Saint David and University of Swansea. We will look at the benefits and impacts of volunteering in local spaces and will have an interactive nature trail to get involved with.The discussion will take place on Saturday 22 October with the trail open and free to visit from Saturday 22 October - Sunday 13 November. Please note that the Festival Event is at the Community Orchard Entrance a few hundred yards downhill from the St Anns Allotments Entrance Gate off Ransom Road, St. Anns, opposite the Hillview Community Centre.
