BBC Concert Orchestra: Journeys

This event features the brilliant collaborative works of UoN student composers and NTU film makers. Come and hear 21 new film compositions by UoN student composers and alumni, conducted by Hugh Brunt. Tickets for the 8.30 p.m. concert are free but you need to book a place ahead.

UoN Philharmonia joins forces with NTU players and the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform Screen Sounds featuring TV and film music classics, such as excerpts from Bridgerton, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Mission Impossible, and many-many more gems. Michael Coleby will be conducting, and Mervyn Cooke will introduce the pieces. Ticket prices: £10 standard, £5 concessions, and free to UoN students.

Each year Being Human Festival invites researchers at universities and other research organisations to collaborate with local community and cultural partners to create exciting and engaging events and projects for all to enjoy. The festival coordinates hundreds of free events across the UK and beyond. Festival events aim to celebrate and demonstrate the ways in which the humanities inspire and enrich our everyday lives, help us to understand ourselves, our relationships with others, and the challenges we face in a changing world.
