Congratulations to Dr Marjolein Stern

The Centre for the Study of the Viking Age is pleased and proud to extend its congratulations to our Marjolein who will officially become Dr Stern at the 15 July graduation ceremony, having recently passed the viva on her thesis Runestone Images and Visual Communication in Viking Age Scandinavia. For the last few months, Marjolein has been working as the Centre's community engagement officer, keeping the website and our Twitter account (@UoNCSVA) up to date, and organising various events for children, including a workshop at Mayfest and next year's Vikings for Schools programme. We shall miss her, but are delighted also to congratulate her on her new job, starting at the beginning of July, as research coordinator for the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies at the University of Ghent in Belgium.
