European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT)
This study is sponsored by the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT). The EBMT is a non-profit organisation based in Maastricht, The Netherlands, that was established in 1974 in order to allow scientists and physicians involved in clinical bone marrow transplantation to share their experience and develop co-operative studies. The EBMT aims to promote all aspects associated with the transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells from all donor sources and donor types including basic and clinical research, education, standardisation, quality control, and accreditation for transplant procedures.
European Crohn's and Colitis Organization (ECCO)
The study is being conducted by the European Crohn's and Colitis Organization (ECCO). ECCO is the umbrella organization of the national study groups performing and coordinating research work in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Broad Medical Research Programme
The study is funded by a grant from the Broad Medical Research Programme, created by The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Foundation. The programme provides funds for innovative basic and clinical research that will lead to improvements in the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Participating countries
In each of the countries where the trial is conducted, a Country Chief Investigator has been identified. This investigator should be the first point of contact for doctors in that country who are interested in finding out more about the study.
