In December 2022 a 'Services to Education award' was awarded to Dr Malik, this recognition was in light of her services to Higher Education, teaching BA and MA students for over a decade. Abida helped towards Aziz foundation partnering with the University of Nottingham for Masters scholarships for British Muslims. This was by a social justice organisation, tackling food poverty in Nottingham - Himmah. See the Himmah website for more information.
